New Life Christian Center is a non‑denominational, Indigenous‑led Christian congregation located on the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation. Our ministry began in 1997 as a children’s church founded by our late apostles, Willie and Sandy Jock, whose vision continues to guide us today.
We honor both our faith and our Native identity. Our worship embraces the richness of our culture—sounding the First Nations drums and rattles, remembering our ancestors, and welcoming all who enter through the Eastern Door of this great Nation. At New Life Christian Center, every person is invited to experience a place where Indigenous heritage and Christian faith walk together in unity and reverence.
On December 19, 2025, our church building had suffered water damage from a frozen, burst pipe, causing major flood renovations to take place. Our weekly service is temporarily relocated to the Akwesasne Healing Rooms until the entire flooring is renovated from the flooding. Akwesasne Healing Rooms is located at 647 State Route 37, Akwesasne, NY13655.
My name is The One and Only, Roy Burns. I am Mohawk, born and raised in Akwesasne—the ancestral land of the Mohawk people. I’ve been married to my lovely wife, Corrin Burns for 20 years and am a proud father of four children, ages 15, 9, 8, and 1.
At the age of 19, I experienced a life-changing encounter with the Holy Spirit in Niagara Falls. That moment marked the beginning of my spiritual journey. Soon after, my wife and I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, with a shared mission to plant a church. In time, we returned to Akwesasne, where I joined the congregation at New Life Christian Center in 2010 under the leadership of the late Apostles Willie and Sandy Jock. I began serving as an associate pastor in 2012, and following Apostle Willie’s passing in 2022, I stepped into the role of Senior Pastor.
I believe Akwesasne is divinely positioned to be a spiritual bridge between Canada and the United States—a place where the full outpouring of God’s presence can flow across all of Turtle Island. Our mission is to release the sound of God’s love and reveal His heart throughout the land.
